考你是否“敢说”

英语口语能否说好是一方面，是否敢说又是另外一方面，在我们现行的考试制度下，对后者的考察往往重于前者。纵观常见的英语口语考察题目，大多不是问专业问题，而是类似于“你的爱好是什么”，“你觉得大学里最有意义的事是什么”，“你将如何规划自己的研究生生涯”等人人都能答得上来的开放性题目。可见，考官不会让你无话可说，而且恰恰鼓励你开口。无论答得好不好，只要你开口，代表你并不惧怕英语表达，第一步就你赢了。

考你是否“会说”

复试时的英语口语，基本就是看你敢不敢张口，能不能就简单问题表达流畅，而不一定非要文采斐然。如果考官提出一个问题，你应尽量展开多说几句，才能证明你能驾驭得了英语口语。比如考官问你，你的业余时间都用来做什么?你回答看书、打球。然后没有了，不再展开叙述。那么考官一定非常失望，因他为真正要问的，并不是你业余时候都干什么，而是“为什么要干这些”。像这些有一说一、戛然而止的回答，往往给人以准备不充分、口语表达能力差等印象。

口语不能定成败

考研最难的是初试，能通过初试进入复试这一关的，基本一条腿已经迈进了研究生的大门。况且研究生阶段的学习注重专业能力的培养，导师招收学生更看重其专业课基础和研究学习能力，决定复试成败的，是你的专业素养和那些专业问题的回答。英语口语复试，对于绝大多数学校和专业来说，都是走个过场。答得好固然可以加分，但如果表现差也不会因此而被“一票否决”，实在无需害怕。

1. What can you tell me about yourself?

这个问题并不是要你介绍你的简历，老师是希望你能通过一件小事，了解你的处理方式，从而看出你的性格、优势，与哪位老师比较匹配等。

I feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a job and it turns out just as I'd planned. 3. What would you like to be doing five years after graduation?

I hope to do my best I can be at my job and because many in this line of work are promoted to area manager, I am planning on that also.

4. Why do you choose this major?

I major in International Trade and have great interest in it. International trade currently become increasingly important in the world of globalization, and those companies desirous to file themselves into the international market and have to confront plenty of issues. Thus, corresponding emphasis have been put on these issues in this field. But during my college study and internship period, I have found I have many to study, so it is very necessary and urgent for me to grasp firmly and comprehensively the relevant knowledge of international trade. That is why I chose this major. Now I look forward to enriching my scope in this field in our university.

5. Why do you change your major?

I show keen interest in the (报考专业) studies, 报考方向 in particular, even though my major is 原专业. You might ask me why, well, let's tell you like this. 原专业 are too abstract, full of terms, far away from the real world. I don't mean that 原专业 is useless. But 报考专业 studies seem more challenging, and promising for my future career. My plan is like this: start my work in a 相关行业 firm and work as a 专业人士 so that I can try my best to help the clients, who they're and where they're from, whether they're rich or poor.
