如何提高学生英语口语的准确性

如何提高学生英语口语的准确性


Abstract(摘要):When we teach English as a foreign language, we'll alwayshave to face the same problem: how to improve our students' spoken English. Evenour English teachers, as non-native speakers, when we speak English, we're alsochallenged by two important factors, that is fluency and accuracy. When I wasstudying in England, my English teacher said: "You can say everything in Engli么that is possible but not probable." That's true, which means accuracy is moreimportant than fluency. So when teach English, we should make our students speakfluently as well as accurately.


关键词:accuracy fluency根据新的教学大纲标准,把英语口语考试列入了考试范围,对学生的英语能力有了更高的要求.传统的语法教学已经不能完全符合新的教材需要和新的教学要求。过去的英语教学有一种错误观点,以为教会学生英语语法就等于教会学生英语,这是不正确的。作为老师,我们应该用英语来传授知识。譬如:


在讲述高二下册课本中的一课A Tale of Two Cities《双城记》)时,教师应运用英语讲述故事情节,提高学生的英语听说能力,培养学生的英语思维能力。


教师可以重点引导学生掌握故事的情节和人物,引导学生运用英语表达能力去分析故李的情节和人物。这样一来既培养学生对英语的学习兴趣,又拓宽了学生的知识面和运用英语的综合能力,符合新的教学大纲要求.在这一课中,语法教学只能是一种辅助手段,如果避开故事内容来讲解语法,将会是枯操乏味和死记硬背的东西,这是传统的语法教学,是约束学生的学习能力。除了教学方法的设计外,教师在运用英语表述时应多用一些过渡性的连词和副词,使所表述的内容更具连贯性和感情色彩。因此,为了使学生英语口语的表达更具准确性,本人曾作过一些教学尝试:


一常用的连词和副词有and but, later, and then, so, however, meanwhile,therefore, besides等.过渡词语有to one's surprise, generally speaking, what'sworse, to make the matter worse, at the same time, to be honest, after that, as aresult, thanks to, I'm sure, as far as I know, You're right,等.


1. What's more, I can go to bed earlier.


2. As far as卫rnow, everyone is happy about this arrangement of things.


3.I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding us.


二.使用一些特殊句如:强调句,感叹句,倒装句,结果状语从句等,使到句子活起来,所要表达的内容就生动了。而单调,结构同样的句子显得死板,使人容易疲劳,这种情况可以用特殊句来避免。


l.It was Syney Carton who had saved Charles Darmay.


2.How glad we were to see you getting well!


3.The nature is so important to us that we should protect it from being polluted.


三.善干归纳一些词的用法注意语言的准确表达。如:Besides有较强的递进性。Never比not更具有感染性和说服力。


1.Charging entrance fees will no doubt keep some people away.Besides, it willbecome necessary to build gates and walls, which will do harm to the appearance ofa city.


2.Such was the accident, a terrible one which I will nevr forget.


四.多用表示感情色彩的动词如:have to, be forced to, be made to, enjoy,rush, hesitate, fly, would/should like to, stand, jump with joy等词表示特定的情绪状态。


1.We had to say goodbye to the workers.


2.On the other side, where the playground used to be, now stands another newbuilding--our library.


3.How time flies!
