    这个话题的开头段写作如下:
    Some say that the world would be a better place if the automobile had never been invented. I disagree with this statement. Without an automobile, how can you travel miles to work in your office each weekday morning? Without an automobile, how can you carry large amounts of goods to a place that is in need of these goods? How can you save a patient who has a heart disease by getting him to hospital quickly?
    这是反问式开头。与开头呼应，你的下文可以这样展开:

    在托福写作中.排比反问法开头多用在支持反对型和对比选择型的文章中。因为使用这种方法能够一开始就显现作者的遗词造句能力，所以仇得学习。但考生在使用这种开头方法时要注愈以下几点:
    1)如果文.章一开始就用几个反问句开头，为了保持其效果.可以到第二段再表明作者的立场。
    2)排比最好选用3个事物，4个多余且费神，2个不产生效果。
    3)进行排比的3个李物最好要有一定的层次感，比较可取的做法是给作者要写的每一条理由都罗列一个事例出来。比如针对“朋友有某笔钱是用来买车好还是川来旅行好”这个话题.如果作者的观点是“买车好”，就可以将有车的3个好处分别川3个事例在首段川排比反问句写出.每句话对应一个理由.就会显得巧妙、精致多了。如下所示:
    Have you ever waited for a bus in the rain for an hour? Have you ever had an emergency for which you had to go to hospital, but could not find a taxi? Or have you ever regretfully told your parents who live in the country that it took you too much time to go and see them but you wished you could? If you have never had these experiences, you can never know how important it is to have a car.
    显然.这种开头方式不仅能够很快吸引读者注惫力，而且可以体现出作者可以熟练地使用排比和反问这些修辞方式;缺点是需要花费一些时间想出3个或3个以上的例子来进行排比。不过适当训练后.随肴对句式把握得越来越熟练和思考过程所需时间的逐渐缩短.所需要的总时间也会随之减少。
