Sue：Hello,Edmund.Are you used to the life here in the LV?

Edmund：Everything has been fine for the past several months.

Sue：Great!

Edmund：But I have a problem now.

Sue：Oh,yeah.Whats that?Can I help you?

Edmund：Yes,you can help me if you like.

Sue：Dont be silly.I want to help you.

Edmund：And trouble for me it‘ll be,I’d like to invite a neighbor to my home for dinner.

Sue：What seems to be the problem?

Edmund：I don‘t know how to prepare the dinner.I mean I don’t know anything about the western tableware.Im confused with so many items on the table.

Sue：Ok,come to my home and I will tell you.

Edmund：Oh,its very kind of you.

Sue：Ed,Look.This is napkin and the big plate.

Edmund：I know that the big plate is main plate.What about those knives?

Sue：Yeah,the big one,right next to the dinner plate,is the meat knife,and the fork is on the other side.The middle one is for fowl and the one the far right is the fish knife.

Edmund：Can I use one for everything?

Sue：Yes,but they dont do that.

Edmund：Is that acceptable?

Sue：No.

Edmund：What about these glasses?

Sue：The biggest one is for water,called goblet.And second biggest is for champagne;the two in size are for wine;and the smallest one is sherry glass.There are sometimes not so many glasses.It all depends on.

Edmund：Ok.

Sue：The spoon,you know is for soup.They dont drink from the bowl directly.Those are condiment.

Edmund：It seems thats not very hard.

苏：较大的那个是水杯，叫高脚杯;第二大的是香槟杯，那两个一样大的是葡萄酒杯，最小的是雪莉酒杯。有时也没有那么多酒杯，一切根据情况定。

艾德蒙：好的。

苏：这个汤匙，你知道是喝汤用的。他们不端起来碗来直接喝。那些是调味品。
