A:Hi,Xiaohua. As you are Chinese,would you give me a short account of Chinese dishes?

B:Yes,but I m afraid I can just give you some general ideas about them.

A:That s OK.

B:Generally speaking,they re divided into four principal“families”.They are Shandong,Sichuan,Guangdong and Jiangsu.

A:What are the differences in the taste?

B:Shangdong Food is strongly flavored typical northern taste,while Guangdong Food is mild.Jiangsu Food tastes sweet and soft.While Sichuan Food is very famous for being hot.

A:What is the most famous dish in each family?

B:The most popular Shangdong food is the Sweet and Sour Yellow River Carp.The most renowned Guangdong dish is the Mixed Grill of Dragon,Tiger and Phoenix,which is made of the finest snake meat,wild cat meat and chicken(the phoenix)—cooked together with a rich assortment of ingredients,including mushrooms,edible fungus,and abalone shreds.

B:可以,不过,恐怕我只能大概地给你讲一下。

A:那太好了。

B:一般来说,中国菜分四大菜系:山东、四川、广东、江苏。

A:它们在味道方面有什么不同吗?

B:山东菜是一种典型的北方菜,味重。广东菜味道比较清淡。江苏菜味甜,柔和。四川菜以其辛辣而驰名。

A:这几个菜系比较有名的菜是什么?

B:比较有名的山东菜是糖醋黄河鲤鱼。比较出名的广东菜是龙虎凤烧烤什锦,主要原料是精选的蛇肉、野猫肉和鸡肉,掺上各种各样的配料,其中有蘑菇、可食用菌类、鲍鱼块等。
