Zhang Bo: John, you’ve been in China for half a year, what’s your impression of China?

张博：约翰，你来中国已经半年了，对中国的印象怎么样啊?

John: China is a very interesting country. There are beautiful sceneries and classic constructions. Each city has its own feature. Besides Chinese people are very hospitality.

约翰：中国是一个非常有意思的国家。这里有美丽的风景，古典的建筑。每个城市都有自己的特点。而且中国人非常热情。

Zhang Bo: Hospitality is Chinese traditional culture. People will treat them friendly no matter who they are or where they come from.

张博：是的，热情好客是中国的传统文化。不管对于任何人，不管他来自哪里，人们都会非常热情地招待他们。

John: I have deep understanding of this. Although I’ve only been in China for half a year, I’ve made many friends. Every time when I visit their home, they will prepare many foods for me and introduce their family members and friends to me. When I plan to have a tourist, they will forwardly ask to be guide for me or introduce the destination.

约翰：这一点我有很深刻的体会。我来中国仅仅半年，却结交了很多朋友。每次去朋友家他们都会给我准备很多吃的东西，向我介绍他们的家人和朋友。每次我想出去玩的时候，他们都会主动地提出为我做导游或者为我介绍游览的地方。

Zhang Bo: Indeed. Chinese people not only treat their friends warmly but the strangers as well.

张博：的确如此。中国人不仅对自己的朋友热情，即使对不认识的陌生人也一样。

John: It is said from my foreign friend that he was just in Beijing during 2008 Olympic Games. He never been in China before and he didn’t have good command of Chinese, so he was worried about undergoing many troubles. However, he found that what he concerned are unnecessary when he came here. Kind-hearted people will help him when he didn’t know the way, and people will communicate with him in English and solve the problem if he couldn’t express clearly.

约翰：我听我的一个外国朋友说过，2008年北京举办奥运会时他恰好来北京。由于他之前没有来过中国，而且中文讲得不是很好，所以担心会遇到很多困难。不过当他来到北京时发现他的担忧都是多余的。当他不知道路线的时候就会有人热心地为他指路，当他表达不清楚自己的意思时就会有人用英文和他交流，帮他解决问题。

Zhang Bo: Did he watch the Olympic Games?

张博：那么他观看北京奥运会了吗?

John: Of course, that is a god-given opportunity and he won’t miss it.

约翰：当然，这可是千载难逢的机会，他是不会错过的。

Zhang Bo: During that period, numerous volunteers helped people from both home and abroad settle down problems in stadiums, hotels and streets.

张博：奥运会期间，北京有无数的志愿者在场馆、宾馆和街道服务，帮助国内外的朋友答疑解惑。

John: I heard about it. Those volunteers were very zealous, which make him feel friendly.

约翰：我听他说过。那些志愿者都非常热情，让人有一种很亲切的感觉。

Zhang Bo: The longer you stay in China, the deeper hospitality of Chinese people you’ll feel.

张博：你在中国待的时间越久，就会越深刻地感受到中国人热情好客。

John: I’m deeply impressed. But I have to go back home next month. I’ll come here some day.

约翰：我真的很感动，不过我下个月就要回去了。我一定会再来的。

Zhang Bo: I hope we can see each other in the near future.

张博：希望不久以后能再见到你。
