柱状图的写作重点无非就是数据的描述，一般可以分为两种情况，就是根据每个组里的柱子的个数，有单柱子和多柱子。

第一种情况，单柱子。这种情况好写，就是分别说一下就可以了，如果是以时间为横轴的话，就写一下趋势，如果是以组为横轴，则直接写。

第二种情况，多柱子。这个情况比较麻烦，数据少比如每个组里就两个柱子，可以全写，如果数据比较多，比如每个组里有六个柱子，那就取几个较大或者最小的就行，也就是说在比较的过程中想要拿到想要的结果就要找对比鲜明的那一对就对了。把对比最鲜明的几个柱子描述清楚，其他的可以一带而过。

雅思小作文图表类如何构思

构思基本原则

由于在这一类的图表作文中存在随时间变化而变化的数据和信息，因此，我们在进行这类图表作文的构思时，需要把握一个基本的准则，也就是应该根据时间的推移对数据点进行描述，也即是说，从初始点的描述开始，随着时间的推移，逐一描述进程中的关键信息点，直至终止点。例如，如果在图表中出现1950-2000的变化趋势，则应该从1950年开始描述，并逐步向后推移直至描述到2000年的信息点。

何为关键信息点

上一点中我们提到了随时间推移需要对关键的信息点进行描述，那么哪些才是所谓的关键信息点呢?一般来说，起始点和终止点的描述是必不可少的，其次，图表中出现的极值点(较大最小值)，拐点(变化趋势出现转变的数值点)，峰值(常常可以用类似“在某个时间段内出现的第几个峰值”的表达来描述)和图线的交叉点也都是可以具体描述的信息。

如何合理的安排信息点

“文字”和“数字”

在确定文章的内容后，对于每一个信息点的描述，都由三个部分组分，即对信息点特点的文字描述，具体数字的体现和与相关信息点的比较，考生切忌在行文过程中仅仅关注数字的录入而忽略了能够让读者清晰了解图表内容的恰恰是另外两方面的内容。我们通过下列两组句子能够对这一问题有很好的体会。

EXAMPLE 1

原句：The energy demand in the year 1990 was 3.5 energy units and it increasedto 20 units in the year 2000.

修改后：The energy demand in the year 1990 was relatively low, 3.5 energyunits, but it experienced a rapidly increasing trend during the next 10 yearsand reached the peak of 6 units in 2000, almost 6 times over the 1990 level

原句的表达在语法上没有任何的问题，但是因为没有对数据点进行特征和比较的描述，所以对于读者而言，仅仅只是枯燥的数据罗列，并没有很直观的概念。而在修改后的描述里，我们将起始点的特点“relativelylow”，终止点的特点“the peak”，以及两者的比较“almost 6 time over the 1990level”有效的加入进来，从而更形象和直观化的将信息展现给读者，同时，使文章的表达更具特色。

EXAMPLE 2

原句：The US population is 15 million in 1990, 20 million in 1995 and 40million in 2000.

修改后：The 10 years from 1990 to 2000 witnessed a growth of the US populationfrom 15 million to 40 million, while increase in the second half of the decadewas much more dramatic, 20 million in a mere 5-year period.

同样的，原句的表达没有任何的错误，但是单纯的描述三个年份的人口信息无法给读者带来直观的印象，而修改后的句子在其中加入变化趋势等信息，同时还体现出了“后五年的增长幅度更快”这一特色信息。

The bar chart compares the proportion of employees of both genders employed in executive positions in ACNE Oil Company within a one-year period between July 1993 and June 1994.

As can be seen from the chart, the percentage of male employees generally increased with the rise of the job categories from Grade E to Grade A while the opposite was true with that of women.

When it comes to Grade B and C, men also took up over half of the employees, accounting for 80% and 60%, which are 50% and 10% higher than that of women respectively.

The bar chart shows how much money was spent on fast foods per week in the UK over a span of 20 years from 1970 to 1990 while the graph reveals the trend of fast food consumption over the same period of time.

Third, the consumption of pizza revealed a similar trend of growth as that of hamburgers and could also be clearly cut into three periods, though the growth rate was not that fast. It rose slowly from 40 grams per week in 1970 to 80 grams in 1980 and then grew faster from 80 grams in 1980 to 130 grams in 1985. From 1985, the growth rate was even faster and we see a big increase from 130 grams to 280 grams.
